🪶11.2 Chengdu Ringing Station: Daily Work Routine Vlog
Most of the migratory birds have flown south this season, and the bird ringing work is coming to an end. I made a small “Work With Me for a Day” vlog.
This fall, at the ringing station, my work was basically ring birds with plastic and metal bands, deploy GPS monitors, and collect fecal and blood samples. I also measured morphological characteristics such as bill length, head-bill length, wing length, tail length, and body length for various species, including yellow-browed warblers and eastern buzzards. Becoming more and more smooth with the ringing process.
Whether it was injured birds encountered at the ringing station or research birds being ringed, every time we released them back into nature, we did so with feelings of remorse, excitement, hope, and well-wishes. We hope that they will be safe and sound in the days to come. The Bird Ringing Station, a special place, where we study birds, protect birds, and respect birds. Wishing all of them a safe trip!
