🐎12.12 Shadowing Equine Therapist Beth Shaw: Working on my Horse’s Thoracic Sling

Shadowing Beth Shaw, a visiting equine therapist at my barn. We worked on my horse, Pineapple, who was putting excessive weight on its front legs. We focused on releasing tension in Hub 1, the primary energy transmission point. When a horse moves forward, power originates from the hind legs, travels through the lumbar region, and then distributes to the forequarters. This energy either continues down to the front legs or moves up through the neck.

Our goal was to stimulate the neck region to encourage proper energy flow from the hind legs to the front, promoting balance and preventing over-reliance on the forelimbs. We also worked on opening the thoracic sling, which supports the horse’s forehand and helps with overall posture and movement efficiency.
