πŸ¦β€β¬›2.22 LuxeLakes: Spending Birthday with NestWatch Future Monitors (Last event this season!)

The original plan was to visit Tianfu Forest Park on Saturday morning for nest-searching birdwatching. Objective: locate old nests from last year, mark GPS positions, and prepare for the next breeding season. Final task: complete the Cornell-certified volunteer quiz and receive the nestwatch monitor certificate.

Due to poor weather conditions, the organizer modified the schedule. The group conducted an indoor NestWatch training session and completed the Cornell certification test indoors.

Participants then learned how to create naturalist field notes. This included a brief tutorial, hands-on practice, and group sharing.

Interactive bird-themed games followed. These included β€œThere’s a Bird in My Heart,” β€œUndercover Bird Edition,” and a nature-based version of β€œI Have, You Don’t.” These games increased engagement and strengthened understanding of birds and nature.

Despite weather setbacks, the session was informative, well-organized, and enjoyable. Participants gained both technical knowledge and hands-on skills in a professional yet relaxed environment.
