Giant pandas have a very strong sense of smell, and they have a well-developed olfactory system. In effect, giant pandas primarily sense things through their noses.

The Giant panda has a very keen sense of smell. In addition to distinguishing bamboo, they can also understand the odors emitted by others using their sense of smell. Their ability to smell is so strong they use their nose to see and replaces their weak eyesight.
