Was in the lab today checking out giant panda blood under the microscope. Giant panda blood consists of plasma, red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), and platelets—identical in composition to human blood. In a healthy adult panda, RBCs account for approximately 34.87% ± 2.66, and platelets make up 0.34% ± 0.07. Structurally and functionally, there’s minimal deviation from human hematologic profiles.
