🐻12.3 CBRC: How We “Trick” Black Bears into Taking Their Medicine

Depending on each black bear’s health, medication is sometimes necessary. In fact, 80% of the bears at our rescue center need daily medication. To get them to take it, we wrap each pill in marshmallows or coat it with jam. The photo below shows the bears’ medication freezer, which smells sweet when opened. I’ll admit, while preparing the pills, I couldn’t help but drool a little, lol.
