🐼3.28 Panda VH: Trust, But Verify— Clinical Precision for Pancreatitis
At the veterinary hospital, I learned a principle that extends beyond clinical work: trust, but verify.
Recently, a giant panda named AiLing exhibited behavioral signs consistent with pancreatitis. Based on initial clinical assessment, she was brought in for a b-mode ultrasound (B-US) to evaluate the pancreas. Imaging results showed no evidence of inflammation.
This case reinforced a critical standard in veterinary medicine: no treatment without confirmation. Clinical suspicion must always be supported by diagnostic imaging or laboratory data prior to pharmacological intervention.
