🦆1.5 CWBS:First Assigned Research in 2025 (Day1)
Every winter follows a familiar routine. After the annual bird conservation meeting comes the Sichuan Province Wintering Waterbird Survey (which used to cover only Chengdu but has expanded to the whole province this year). This year, I’m responsible for five sample areas, with the first being Site 087—Sancha Lake in Jianyang. It was freezing cold and very foggy. In previous years, the recorded bird count here was around 330, but today we counted nearly ten times that—2,780. In the past, due to the lack of a preliminary survey and route planning, we might have only observed part of the lake. This year, we conducted a pre-survey, allowing us to cover the entire lake. A great success!
