🐦12.19 Wildlife Tech Lab: Unplanned Research in the Giant Panda National Park
I was given a last-minute assignment by my lab director. No time to submit the absence form for school. I ended up in class, listening through my phone with AirPods, all while scanning for the black-browed bushtit with binoculars in one hand and a camera in the other.
We’re currently conducting research in the Labahe section of the Giant Panda National Park. The main goal is to assess how this publicly accessible area affects bird diversity so we could write an end-of yr report to the government. (Although, I must admit, the free accommodations and the chance to experience Sichuan’s winter snow were also big incentives.)
